[2013 Taiwan_Nantou]Hinoki Design at Ming Jian

Something will be different when you walk through old place with design eye. After we arrived at the Wujih station my brother picked up us and drove to Ming Jian directly. Always feel exciting to find a special place haven't show on the travel book. When we drove into a small garden , there have two buildings one is restaurant and the other is showroom.

Walking around the outdoor space we went to the indoor . Fragrance emanated from hinoki wood.Everything is all made by hinoki wood including furniture or some decorations. For example, this hinoki table embeded on the bar directly.

It's amazing to see from the front side. Different height of table have the different usage.

The other side is a table especially for steeping the tea. Some stool around the table is easy to chat with friends.  Host always fill up the tea to the friend that is traditional Taiwanese hospitality.

There is two meter high solid hinoki wood screen in front of entry place. Not only give the space to the guest and walk around inner decoration  but also understand the collector have bold ambition on collecting hinoki wood.

There have some sculptures or trays on the table

The bench longer than one meter that is very suitable when you have a lot of guest. Feeling comfortable when you lying on the hinoki wood arm.

There is a solid hinoki table also embeded on the pillar. Feeling cozy if you have time to drink a cup of coffee and view the tea plantation.

You can see the form of original hinoki wood from the side view. Cutting hinoki wood is forbidden in Taiwan because the time of growing hinoki wood must have over eighty years.

The restaurant supply a simple lunch. Hostess served us a cup of plume tea that taste sweet and sour. All of us order different flavor of hot pot. Feeling satisfy when I ate the fully vegetable with  clever soup and mixed with soybean sauce. Especially , you can take away the hinoki chopsticks when you finish the dishes.

The drink is Taiwan coffee and handmade pineapple cake. It's worth to go next time.
